Oh, well ... that's good. I wanted to tell you that I know you're not a bad sister, and that he's, well, I was going to go with something nicer than ignorant boor, but along those lines.
More like want, really. I've been dong a lot of talking.
[A beat, and then hastily:]
Yes, yes, I always talk a lot. I mean I've been doing a lot of talking about mages needing to learn magic that's not combat-based alone, magic that can be of use to them and those around them, so that they're seen as valuable rather than threats. ...And I'd like to put the words into actions. But I can't do that alone.
A conference. A gathering, with teachers and students coming and going as they please through the day, where mages can find hope and instruction.
...Obviously open to more than mages, because I don't even want to start imagining the fuss that would be thrown if the Seekers and Templars aren't allowed to stick their noses in everywhere. One day it can be closed. But for now, as I'm heading it, that's not possible.
[Technically, he's already started this second chance at life, and he did months ago when he came out as Anders. But this... This feels like he's finally starting. Taking steps forward, no longer an abomination.]
A few people. Pel, Inessa, Bethany, Merrill, Samouel, Sina, North. No one I think would run to the Mage Council, because I don't want to give Vivienne or Raylan time to undermine it.
That is likely for the best, though there's nothing they could do to stop us. People have been gathering and sharing magic for generations regardless of what Circles want.
They can't stop us, but they could create headaches and I'd like to avoid as many of those as possible. I want this to be simple, straightforward, and clearly helpful. Anything to make it easier for things like this to continue.
You have to watch Raylan's face when I walk near him sometime. I give him headaches by existing.
[There's a cruel amusement in his voice.]
I'd be bothered by it if he wasn't an absolute idiot who wouldn't know reality if it stabbed him through the chest. ...but you've more than my blessing if you want to make more headaches for them, separate from this gathering. It would be satisfying.
Crystal, I meant to do these like two weeks ago...

I'd... Forgive the sentiment, but I'd like very much to have you with me in this.

I'm holding it on the 24th.

[Along with... a lot of things.]
Now, the timing is good, and we've enough mages in one place for the results to be good as well.
